Give reasons for the following:
(a) A square can be thought of as a special rectangle.
Rectangle becomes a square if all the sides of the rectangle are equal.
(b) A rectangle can be thought of as a special parallelogram.
A parallelogram becomes a rectangle if all the angles of a parallelogram are right angles.
(c) A square can be thought of as a special rhombus.
A rhombus becomes a square if all the angles of a rhombus are right angles.
(d) Squares, rectangles, parallelograms are all quadrilaterals.
Squares, rectangles and parallelograms are made of four sides. Therefore, they are quadrilaterals.
(e) Square is also a parallelogram.
Opposite sides of square are parallel. Therefore, it is also a parallelogram.
