16. Calculate the area of the designed region in fig. common between the two quadrants of circles of radius 8 cm each.
Solution:
It is given that radius of quadrants DAC and BAC = r = 8 cm
It is given that DAC and BAC are two quadrants which means that
Area of Designed portion= Area of Quadrant DAC + Area of Quadrant BAC-Area of square ABCD (1)
Area of Quadrant DAC=Area of Quadrant BAC
Area of Quadrant DAC+Area of Quadrant BAC
(2)
Area of square ABCD = side x side=8 x 8=64
(3)
Putting (2) and (3) in (1), we get
Area of Designed Portion
