**Trigonometric Ratios CBSE NCERT Solutions Chapter 8 Exercise 8.1 Question 1**

**1.** In , right angled at B, AB= 24 cm, BC = 7 cm. Determine:

(i) sin A, cos A

(ii) sin C, cos C

**Solution (i)**

AB = 24 cm and BC = 7 cm **(Given)**

Using Pythagoras theorem, we can say that

cm

sin A = (Opposite side to angle A) / (Hypotenuse) = BC/AC =** 7/25**

cos A = (Adjacent side to angle A) / (Hypotenuse) = AB/AC =** 24/25**

**Solution (ii)**

sin C = (Opposite side to angle C) / (Hypotenuse) = AB/AC =** 24/25**

cos C = (Adjacent side to angle C) / (Hypotenuse) = BC/AC =** 7/25**
